In 2026, Chon Thanh Ward is implementing 19 new transport and construction projects funded by public investment, with a total funding of more than VND110 billion. Many projects are being accelerated simultaneously. The approach is to concentrate investment on essential works and avoid scattered funding, while leveraging strong public support to speed up implementation.

Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Chon Thanh Ward People’s Committee, Nguyen Anh Tai, said that before allocating funds, the locality carefully surveys and assesses the necessity and investment efficiency of each project, and fully complies with the prescribed procedures. Projects are selected with a focus, prioritizing those that directly impact socio-economic development and residents’ lives.

Projects under construction simultaneously

Chon Thanh Ward is simultaneously implementing several projects. Among them, the Thanh Tam Residential Area Infrastructure Construction Project, the construction of the administrative block at Campus 2 of Chon Thanh Kindergarten, and the upgrade and expansion of Road No. 15 in Thanh Tam Quarter are all progressing well.

At the Thanh Tam Residential Area Infrastructure Construction Project, technical infrastructure works are being implemented in a coordinated manner, including roads, drainage, power supply, lighting and telecommunications. The project includes road sections totaling nearly 5 kilometers.

Pham The Hung, construction site manager for a component project, said that many items have been completed, including the drainage and lighting systems. The road surface is being covered with crushed stone and compacted in preparation for asphalt paving. Overall progress on the contract package has reached approximately 80%, with completion expected in October 2026.

At another section of the project, Thanh Liem Co., Ltd. is completing the electrical system and paving sidewalks. Company Director To Van Liem said that despite heavy rainfall in recent weeks, the contractor proactively mobilized machinery, vehicles and materials so that construction could continue whenever weather conditions were favorable, resulting in substantial progress. “Many items have now been completed. Workers are paving the sidewalks, and the work is expected to be completed ahead of schedule,” Liem said.

Residents voluntarily donate land

One of the projects making particularly good progress is the upgrade and expansion of Road No. 15 in Thanh Tam Quarter. The nearly 500-meter road is being widened from a 4-meter cement concrete pavement to 9 meters, while a permanent drainage system is being built along both sides. The project’s biggest advantage has been strong public support. All households along the route affected by the road widening have voluntarily dismantled fences, gates and yards and relocated structures to hand over the required site without requesting compensation.

Nguyen Thi Tinh’s family is among the households most affected, with more than 60 meters of frontage. More than 2 meters of the family’s land will be used for the road expansion, requiring the dismantling of a gate and permanent fence, as well as the removal of several trees. Tinh said the road was previously narrow, forcing cars and other vehicles to slow down and give way to one another. The area was also prone to flooding during heavy rains due to inadequate drainage. Therefore, when the project was launched, her family quickly handed over the site. “Once the road is completed and put into use, traffic will be much more convenient, and the neighborhood will have a more spacious and modern appearance,” Tinh said.

Nguyen Duy Vuong, Director of Minh Duc Construction Investment Trading Co., Ltd., said: “Thanks to the support of local residents, the project has been implemented smoothly. It is expected to be completed in September 2026, about two months ahead of schedule.”

Alongside transport and residential infrastructure projects, the construction of the administrative block at Campus 2 of Chon Thanh Kindergarten is also being accelerated. Contractor Dinh Van Can said the project has been under construction for four months and is scheduled for completion in November 2026. Although heavy rainfall initially slowed foundation work, the project is now 75% complete. Truong Thi Hong Van, Vice Principal of the school, said: “The campus currently has eight classes with nearly 190 students. The classrooms basically meet current needs, but the administrative block has deteriorated. The investment in a new administrative block will provide better working conditions for the school, so our staff and teachers are very pleased.”

Chairman Nguyen Anh Tai said that in 2026, public investment in the ward will focus on completing urban technical infrastructure, addressing traffic bottlenecks and improving connectivity among residential areas, major transport routes and industrial parks, thereby expanding urban development space. This year, the ward is implementing 19 new transport and construction projects with a total capital of more than VND110 billion. To date, approximately VND95 billion has been disbursed, equivalent to 86% of the assigned plan.

Site clearance for the projects has generally proceeded smoothly thanks to the involvement of the entire political system and strong support from local residents. Construction work on the projects is being closely supervised to accelerate progress while ensuring quality. Many projects are ahead of schedule.
