A warm Mid-Autumn Festival in remote Dak Nhau Commune

On September 19, at Hoa Hong Kindergarten in Dak Nhau Commune, the Dong Nai City Party Committee’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization, in coordination with Dak Nhau Commune, Quan Am Monastery (Bien Hoa Ward), Tinh Chau Nhu Y Pagoda (Tran Bien Ward) and Hiep Khanh Pagoda (Tan Uyen Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), organized a series of charitable activities for disadvantaged residents and children in the commune to mark the 2026 Mid-Autumn Festival.

The program was attended by Member of Dong Nai City Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization Le Thi Thai; leaders of the Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dak Nhau Commune; doctors from Saigon Bien Hoa Eye Hospital (Tam Hiep Ward); Most Venerable Nun Thich Nu Kim Son, Deputy Head of the Management Board of Quan Am Monastery, together with monks, nuns and Buddhists from the pagoda and other pagodas; as well as benefactors from Dong Nai City and Ho Chi Minh City.

As part of the program, 160 disadvantaged households in the commune participated in a series of zero-dong stalls. Each household received a package of essential goods and cash worth a total of VND500,000. Residents were also treated to hundreds of free vegetarian meals prepared by the pagodas.

In addition to activities aimed at supporting residents' well-being, a team of doctors and medical staff from Saigon Bien Hoa Eye Hospital provided free eye examinations to about 300 local residents, mainly older people and veterans.

In the evening, Hoa Hong Kindergarten became lively with activities for children. They enjoyed lion dances and musical performances and took part in traditional folk games and other Mid-Autumn Festival activities.

On the occasion, the organizing board presented scholarships to 40 children who had overcome difficulties and achieved good academic results. Each scholarship included gifts and cash worth VND1.2 million. Another 350 children received packages of confectionery and lanterns, each worth VND100,000.

Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People’s Council of Dak Nhau Commune Nguyen Trong Lam said that as a remote commune that still faces many difficulties, the support provided by the Dong Nai City Party Committee’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization in coordination with social and charitable organizations was highly meaningful, particularly the gifts and activities organized for disadvantaged residents and children.

Le Thi Thai, Member of the Dong Nai City Party Committee and Deputy Head of the Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization, said that despite the rain and wind, the delegation was very happy to see residents and children in the remote area eagerly receiving gifts and taking part in the activities. “The Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization very much hopes to continue receiving active cooperation from organizations so that residents and children in remote areas can enjoy more moments of happiness,” Le Thi Thai said.
