Efforts to expand the "reach" of Trade Union organizations

According to the Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor, trade union development efforts in the first quarter of 2026 have continued to achieve positive results.

Across the province, 27 new grassroots trade unions were established, expanding the organizational network within enterprises and production and business units. To date, Dong Nai has approximately 2,300 grassroots trade unions with more than 747,000 members. Both the scale and quality of Trade Union activities have steadily improved, earning high evaluations from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for many consecutive years.

The above results not only reflect the proactive and flexible nature of Trade Union organizations in mobilizing and organizing workers but also affirm the Trade Union's position and prestige in the context of increasingly deep economic and social development and integration.

In practice, Trade Unions at all levels in the province have effectively fulfilled their role as a bridge between enterprises and employees, contributing to the building of harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations. Trade Union activities have increasingly deepened, focusing on core functions such as representing and protecting workers' legitimate rights and interests, while also promoting emulation movements and creativity in labor and production. Notable initiatives such as “Good Workers, Creative Workers,” “Trade Union Shelter,” and “Trade Union Bus Trips” have created widespread positive impacts, strengthening the bond between workers and enterprises and reinforcing trust in Trade Union organizations.

Amid an increasingly volatile labor market, Trade Unions are required not only to expand in scale but also to improve the quality of their operations. To achieve this, priority must first be given to building a grassroots trade union workforce with mettle, skills, and practical competence. The provincial Federation of Labor should continue to intensify training and capacity-building in collective bargaining, workplace dialogue, and labor dispute resolution for Trade Union officials, while also replicating effective models to improve workers' living conditions. Maintaining and raising the quality of emulation movements, especially those that promote skilled and creative labor, will not only increase labor productivity but also motivate workers to continuously hone their skills and adapt to the demands of modern production.

Expanding the “reach” of Trade Union organizations across all types of enterprises will better protect workers’ rights and contribute to a stable, transparent labor environment, forming a solid foundation for sustainable development. In the long term, as Dong Nai aims to become a centrally governed city, the establishment of harmonious and stable labor relations carries strategic significance. Strong and effective Trade Unions will serve as a vital pillar in maintaining social stability, improving the quality of human resources, and driving rapid and sustainable socio-economic growth.
