Dong Nai aims to strengthen development of Trade Union organizations in enterprises

One of the key breakthrough goals of the Dong Nai Trade Union for the 2025–2030 term is to accelerate the development of union members, expand, and strengthen trade union organizations across all types of enterprises, meeting practical demands of labor market and international economic integration.

Accordingly, in the first quarter of 2026, alongside efforts to care for the material and spiritual well-being of union members and workers, Trade Unions at all levels focused on establishing grassroots trade unions within enterprises, contributing to the building of harmonious and stable labor relations.

Expanding the reach of Trade Union organizations

In late March 2026, the founding congress of the grassroots Trade Union at Anh Duong Irradiation Technology Joint Stock Company in Long Thanh Commune was held in a solemn atmosphere, with 47 workers joining the organization. The establishment of grassroots trade union plays a vital role in safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of employees while serving as a bridge between workers and company leadership, thereby fostering harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations.

According to Nghiem Nguyen Ngoc Huyen, Chairwoman of the company’s grassroots trade union, the formation the grassroots trade union in the enterprise is not only an important milestone in the development process of the organization but also carries many practical meanings for employees. “This is an important starting point for workers to have a representative body that protects their legitimate rights and interests. Since the union was established, workers’ voices have been heard more clearly, while policies and benefits have been implemented fully and promptly,” she said.

Currently, the entire province has 2,300 grassroots Trade Unions with more than 747,000 members. This serves as a solid foundation for trade union organizations to promote their role in representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate rights of employees.

In early April 2026, the Provincial Labor Federation organized a Conference to announce the decision to establish the grassroots trade union of ZIEHL-ABEGG Vietnam Co., Ltd. in Nhon Trach commune, with 153 union members. Through the trade union organization, union members will have an additional official channel for dialogue with the enterprise, contributing to building harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations, aiming for the sustainable development of the enterprise in the coming time.

Following its establishment, the Executive Committee of the grassroots trade union of ZIEHL-ABEGG Vietnam Co., Ltd. held a meeting to assign specific responsibilities to its members to effectively carry out activities aimed at protecting workers’ rights. Le Thi Hanh, a trade union member, expressed her confidence in joining the organization, noting that previously, employees sometimes hesitated to make their own requests regarding many work or daily life issues, but with a trade union, workers have an additional support to voice their thoughts and aspirations.

According to Hanh, when participating in the trade union, employees’ rights and benefits are given clearer attention, from salaries and bonuses to welfare policies. Not only that, the Trade Union also organizes many practical activities such as: visiting and supporting in times of difficulty, creating cohesion among workers. "I believe that as more and more employees participate in, the trade union organization will become stronger, contributing to building a stable and long-term working environment," Hanh confided.

Many benefits from the Trade Union

According to the provincial Federation of Labor, the first quarter of 2026 saw positive results in developing trade union organizations. A total of 27 new grassroots trade unions were established provincewide, expanding the network across enterprises and units. Most of these trade unions were formed in companies employing 20 workers or more, reflecting a focus on the production and business sector where large numbers of workers are concentrated.

These achievements highlight the proactiveness and efforts of the provincial Federation of Labor in innovating approaches to mobilizing and gathering workers, while reaffirming the vital role of Trade Union organizations in today’s socio-economic context. The establishment of grassroots trade unions not only strengthens organizational presence but also ensures that workers receive proper care and protection of their lawful rights and interests.

In parallel with organizational expansion, trade unions at all levels also focus on improving the quality of grassroots trade union activities. In reality, at many foreign-invested enterprises, after the establishment of grassroots trade unions, workers' lives and rights have significantly improved, and their commitment to the enterprise has increasingly grown.

Kim Si Jung, General Director of Chang Shin Vietnam Co., Ltd. in Tan Trieu Ward, noted that the company has consistently supported grassroots trade union activities by providing material resources and time to ensure the union’s effective operation. “The grassroots trade union serves as an important bridge, harmonizing the interests of the company and employees. Through dialogue and negotiation, many issues are resolved early, creating a stable, positive, and productive working environment,” he said.

Nguyen Quoc Truong, General Director of Anh Duong Irradiation Technology Joint Stock Company, stated that the enterprise always believes that when workers feel secure in their work and are committed long-term, production and business efficiency will be sustainably enhanced. The company's board of directors is committed to creating favorable conditions for the grassroots trade union to operate effectively, quickly consolidate its organization, and coordinate the implementation of activities to care for workers' lives. This is an important foundation for the enterprise to build a united workforce, contributing to the increasingly strong development of the enterprise.
