(ĐN)- Since the beginning of the year, Trang Bom district’s Fatherland Front Committee and its agencies have made ongoing efforts to support local poor people to develop production, stable their lives.
Particularly, the committee built 13 charity houses and upgraded two others, created conditions for students to gain access loans to pursue study, provided preferential loans to poor households to develop household economy, solved jobs and improved living condition for local people.
Over the past years, many local households benefited from poverty reduction projects that aim to improve the living conditions of residents in poor communes through the diversification of livelihood strategies. The district also honored individuals and collectives for their contributions to poverty reduction.
Deputy Chairwoman of the district’s Fatherland Front Committee said the locality has fulfilled the target on reducing the poverty rate thanks to its ceaseless efforts over the past years.
Trang Bom strives to bring the ratio of poverty-stricken families to below 1.2 percent in 2014 from 1.37 percent last year, contributing to new rural areas.
