Over the last five years, the front has made efforts in strengthening the block of solidarity and encouraging citizens from all walks of life to become involved in economic and social management. Accordingly, the front implemented a strategy to reinforce national unity and promote the role of religions and ethnic groups, spread patriotic campaigns across the province and engage more with public opinions and the aspirations of citizens, and collect public feedback on State policies and guidelines.
The movement "All people unite to build cultural lifestyle" has drawn a great deal of attention from local people. So far, 97.38 percent of all households have received the ‘Cultural Family’ title.
During the past term, the front has coordinated closely with local departments and agencies in popularising the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies on the national great unity, as well as the role and tasks of the front in the national construction and defence. The coordination has led to the success of such campaigns as “Day for the poor” and “Paying the Debt of Gratitude”.
In this period, Fund for the Poor has raised over VND865 billion to build 5,411 charity houses, help difficult families develop household economy, and award scholarships to disadvantaged students; while the “Paying the Debt of Gratitude” Fund has mobilised more than VND24 billion to build and repair some 900 gratitude houses to those who have made contributions to the nation.
Moreover, the Front has provided around VND20 billion from its relief fund to assist flood victims in central and south-central provinces.
In the coming time, the front will strive to foster stronger national great unity and implement its tasks regarding socio-economic affairs, national defence, security and external relations, said Chairman Vy Van Vu of the Front. Especially, listening to the public will be one of key missions in this term.
