Activities to mark Vietnamese Teachers’ Day

(ĐN)- Diverse activities to mark the Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (Nov. 20) have taken place across Dong Nai province to affirm the role of teachers who build the foundations of intellect, culture, and education for students.

Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee Huynh Thi Nga and Director of Department of Education and Training Le Minh Hoang attended ceremony to mark the Vietnamese Teachers’ Day at Luong The Vinh High School with its teaching staff and students. The school recently received the second-grade Labor Medal from the State President.

Addressing at the ceremony, Mrs. Nga and Mr. Hoang congratulated the school’s teachers and they also called on the school’s teachers and staff to enhance their skills and social and political knowledge and raise their morality in order to prove as worthy of the honor as they are.

A large number of former teachers and students gathered at Dong Nai Teachers’ College for a meeting to celebrate Vietnamese Teachers’ Day. Participants reviewed traditions of the Vietnamese teachers’ day and acknowledged the great contributions of teachers in the educational cause. Speaking at the meeting, the principal of the college, Mr. Nguyen Gia Bao said that the school always attaches great importance to moral education for its students as well as helping them become good teachers after graduation.

Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Duc Hoa joined a meeting with teachers, students and former students of Statistics Secondary School No. 2 in Dong Nai to honour and encourage its teachers and students on the occasion of the Vietnamese Teachers’ Day. Mr. Hoa praised achievements made by the school over the past years. He also urged the school to raise the training quality and preparing human resources in order to meet training requirements in the future when the school will upgrade to become a college by 2010.
