On October 18, the People’s Committee of the southern province of Dong Nai, together with Communist Party of Vietnam Online Newspaper, held a direct dialogue with workers. This is the first time the direct dialogue model with workers has been organized.
Before the dialogue, Assc.PhD.Prof Dao Duy Quat, a high-ranking expert of the Party Central Committee Commission for Propaganda and Training, and editor-in-chief of Communist Party of Vietnam Online Newspaper, informed workers of the world situation, as well as the socio-economic development in Vietnam.
He stressed the Politburo’s guideline on the campaign “Vietnamese people prioritize the use of Vietnamese goods” among the whole Party and people. He said that the guideline should be considered a revolution of consumer culture, in order to strengthen the pride of the nation.
Representatives from the Ministry of Labour, War-Invalids and Social Affairs, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Vietnam social insurance answered workers’ questions which related to labour laws, salary regulations, social and medical insurance laws, unemployment insurance, and housing policies.
According to Mr. Huynh Van Toi, head of the Dong Nai provincial Department of Progranda and Training, the dialogue was a close bridge between the State and workers, in which questions and suggestions from workers were answered.
