(ĐN)- On April 10, a delegation from the provincial People’s Council had a working session with Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs on the implementation of social relief policies to people with financial difficulties.
In 2008, Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs provided allowance worth more than VND1.8 billion to 14,168 social relief beneficiaries.
In 2009, additional 5,000 elderly people aged over 85 received allowances valued at VND170,000 each per month. Until the first quarter of this year, the department provided allowances for 16,151 people with financial difficulties.
Speaking at the working session, Head of the provincial People’s Council’s Socio-Cultural Board Nguyen Van Hung said that he would suggest the Council to consider to increase allowances for communal staffs. He also asked the allowances are used for the right purposes and the right beneficiaries and settled according to current financial regimes.
