(ĐN)- On April 6, 111 teams from universities and colleges throughout the South gathered at the Rach Mieu Sports House, Phu Nhuan district, HCM City to take part in the qualifying round of Robocon Vietnam 2009 contest. Among the competitors, there are 22 teams from Lac Hong university, the Technology Junior College and the Vocational Junior College No.8 in Dong Nai province. The contest will last until April 10. The teams are divided into 28 groups to compete in a round-robin and they compete in two rounds of the competition with only the top 12 teams advancing to the national final competition in Hue from May 11-17. From there, the national champion will go on to represent Vietnam in the ABU Asia-Pacific Robot Contest 2009 in Tokyo in August.
By the end of the second day of the competition, Dong Nai took first place in 7 out of 28 groups. Lac Hong University grabbed the lead in group 6 while the Vocational Junior College No.8 took the lead in group 13 and the Vocational Junior College No.8 entered the second round of the competition.
