(ĐN)- On March 18, a supervision delegation of the provincial People’s Council led by Vice Chairman Huynh Chi Thang had a working session with People’s Committee of Bien Hoa city on environmental protection work of the city. The city leaders reported that 86 per cent of the total waste volume arising in Bien Hoa have been collected. According to the report from the city authorities, many environmental projects have not yet been implemented due to lack of funding and the city found it very difficult to move polluting manufacturing enterprises out of the city due to shortage of land for relocation.
On the same day, another delegation of the provincial People’s Council headed by deputy head of the Committee for Culture and Social Affairs paid a working visit to Vinh An town, Vinh Cuu district to inspect and supervise the implementation of the social policies in the town. After real inspection, the supervision delegation saw that Vinh An town implemented effectively the government’s social welfare policies. Leaders of Vinh Cuu district also asked for financial support from the provincial government for the remaining 18 households who suffered crop damages caused by wild elephants.
Earlier, the provincial People’s Council’s Economic and Budget Committee had examined management practices in mineral exploitation in the province.
