The industry was established in Dong Nai in the early decades of the twentieth century, and has gradually developed and expanded. Rubber and wood industries flourished here previously. The evidence of this can be seen today through Dong Nai’s rubber plantations and forest plantation establishments.

From 1975 until now, Dong Nai has made many efforts to speed up the development of industry. With available advantages, Dong Nai focused on boosting its development and restructure the economy in the direction of industrialization and modernization. Accordingly, the province mobilized all resources for development investment, along with sustainability of the economy. Besides, many concentrated industrial parks and industrial complexes were built over the past time to attract foreign investors.
