(ĐN)- Phu Vinh is a mountainous agricultural commune in Dinh Quan district, Dong Nai province with 64.17% of the total population are the Hoa (Chinese) ethnic people. Most of the people are farmers and their living conditions are still difficult. During the past time, many efforts have been made to mobilise all available resources to develop local economy, maintain public order, and focus on social and charitable activities. Accordingly, the commune’s authorities and related agencies have launched campaigns to mobilise donations from benefactors and enterprises to build charity houses for the poor and eradicate temporary houses.
So far, the commune built 93 charity houses worth a total of more than VND655 million. By now, Phu Vinh commune has basically completed replacing makeshift, dilapidated houses for poor households. Besides, Phu Vinh has forgiven debts worth nearly VND20 million owed by the poorest households in the commune, help them overcome difficulties and stabilize their life. As a result, the commune’s poor household rate reduced to 7.7%.
