(ĐN)- Late last week, the Dong Nai provincial Red Cross Association held a meeting to celebrate the 62nd anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Red Cross Society (VNRC) and review the campaign “Each organization, each individual associated with one humanitarian address” launched by VNRC.
(ĐN)- Late last week, the Dong Nai provincial Red Cross Association held a meeting to celebrate the 62nd anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Red Cross Society (VNRC) and review the campaign “Each organization, each individual associated with one humanitarian address” launched by VNRC.
Since launching in May 2008, the campaign has attracted support from 347 organizations and individuals in the province who registered to contribute more than VND 1.4 billion and 1,325 kg of rice to the provincial Red Cross Association in 2008. Between May and November, the money went to help 1,691 poor people in the province.
On this occasion, VNRC presented certificates of merit to 60 individuals and awarded campaign medals to 136 others who have made outstanding contributions to the provincial Red Cross Association.
From May to November, the provincial Red Cross Association has spent over VND 400 million to present 18 wheelchair for disabled people, give 59 bicycles for poor students and provide vocational training for 16 students and other charity activities.
