Ancient pagoda rebuilt in Dong Nai

(ĐN)- A ceremony was held on November 16 in Binh Luc hamlet, Tan Binh commune, Vinh Cuu district, Dong Nai province to mark the official start of the restoration of Kim Cang pagoda and commemorate the death anniversary of Zen Buddhist monk Nguyen Thieu who was is the first Buddhist missionary to Dong Nai by the Executive board of the Provincial Buddhist Sangha.

Kim Cang pagoda was first built more than 300 years ago. It is honored as the first Buddhist pagoda in the south of Vietnam and it was built by Zen Buddhist monk Nguyen Thieu. In 1946, the pagoda was completely destroyed due to the war.
