At the ceremony, 240 scholarships worth VND1-2 million each were granted to outstanding poor students who are children of ethnic minority groups in the provinces of Dong Nai, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Binh Thuan, Tay Ninh, and Binh Phuoc.
Dieu Xien scholarships was awarded first time in 2003 to Dong Nai’s students. After that it is expanded to the provinces of South Eastern, Cuu Long Delta, North-western region and Central Highland. Till now, Dieu Xien Scholarship Fund spent nearly VND2 billion to help poor ethnic students.
