(ĐN)- In five years (2003-2007), Dinh Quan district’s Social Policy Bank provided special credit loans worth nearly VND68 billion for more than 11,700 poor households in the district. Accordingly, over 2,700 households have escaped poverty and 3,800 others stabilized their production and gradually improved their living conditions. Moreover, the bank also provided loans to local poor students, who study at universities, college and vocational training school, to help them cover their school fees and living costs. During the past five years, Dinh Quan district’s Social Policy Bank has made important contributions to poverty reduction work in the local. The employment creation program (Program 120) and the rural clean water supply program have been implement effectively in communes, wards and towns of the district.
