The province has set its target at reducing the number of poor people to 160,000 in 2009 and 140,000 in 2010. The expenditure for issuing free medical insurance cards to poor people between now and 2010 is estimated at VND 62.4 billion.
This year, Dong Nai province will build 500 new houses for the poor and provide financial assistance for educational costs and other programs.
