(ĐN)- The restoration of the Ong Pagoda, a national historical monument, has been started lately. Ong Pagoda is located at Hiep Hoa commune, Bien Hoa city. It was built in 1684 by the Chinese Community in Cu Lao Pho (Pho isle). The pagoda is a place for both people, southern monks and Buddhists to contemplate and worship the Buddha, recall their ancestors, and pray for safety and prosperity for the country and people. At first, it was named Quan De Pagoda, and later renamed That Phu Co Temple (or Ong Pagoda).

Aiming to preserve cultural heritage, Buddhist managing committee mobilized donations from organizations, individuals and Buddhist followers to restore the pagoda. The project is estimated at nearly VND4 billion and expected to complete in 12 months
