(ĐN) – Minister of Culture and Information Le Doan Hop from February 27-28 paid a working visit to Dong Nai province. During the visit, he visited Cat Tien National Park and Vinh Cuu Natural Preservation Area and some historical sites in the province.
On the visit to Cat Tien National Park and Vinh Cuu Natural Preservation Area, the Minister emphasized the need to preserve cultural traditions and historical values of these two sites. Hop said that the Ministry will make further efforts to develop Cat Tien National Park, Con Dao and Phu Quoc islands as the most attractive tourist destination in the South. He also stressed the need to focus on advertising these tourist sites and the importance of raising public awareness about protecting these sites.
Regarding nomination of Cat Tien National Park for World Heritage Listing, the Minister urged the leaders of Cat Tien National Park to step up efforts to submit the inventory of Cat Tien National Park to register on the UNESCO cultural and natural heritage list not later than February 2008.
