Dong Nai Young Volunteers lend a helping hand in Summer 2006

(ĐN) – More than 10,000 young volunteers in Dong Nai province began the Provincial Youth Union’s Green Summer 2006 volunteer campaign at a ceremony held late last week at Dong Nai Secondary Technical School.

(ĐN) – More than 10,000 young volunteers in Dong Nai province began the Provincial Youth Union’s Green Summer 2006 volunteer campaign at a ceremony held late last week at Dong Nai Secondary Technical School. Also present at the ceremony was Vo Van Mot, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Committee of Dong Nai province. 

Volunteer teams are introduced to the ceremony

Addressing at the ceremony, Standing Deputy Secretary of Dong Nai province’s Youth Union and Chairman of the Dong Nai Youth Association Thai Bao placed the emphasis on the motto “Solidarity, Creativeness, Efficiency and Safety”. He said that the 2006 Green Summer Volunteer Campaign focuses on helping people understand the Party’s policies and guidelines, the State’s laws, making efforts to pay debt of gratitude to contributors to the nation, working hand in hand with the community to provide opportunities for education and entertainment to local youth and students and to support and improve the lives of the poor in the province etc.

A dance performance at the ceremony
The campaign takes place from June 10 to August 15. The Provincial Youth Union will send about 990 volunteers to help people in the province’s districts in the peak time period between July 15 and August 15. In addition, volunteer teams will be also sent to Kon Tum province where is twined with Dong Nai province in order to provide free medicines and medical check-ups as well as give gifts to local residents in the area.
