(ĐN)- Thong Nhat district branch of Dong Nai Social Policy Bank has just provided loans amounting to VND 375 million to 45 poor house. Each household was lent between VND7-10 million at low interest rate of 0.6 per cent per month with a maturity period between 1-3 years.
Over the past time, Xuan Thien commune’s Poverty Alleviation Committee in coordination with Thong Nhat district branch of Dong Nai Social Policy Bank has helped poor households access credit for production in order to raise the living standards or lessen poverty in Xuan Thien commune.
Thong Nhat district branch of Dong Nai Social Policy Bank said total capital for preferential credits for Xuan Thien commune’s poor households during the past fourth months of 2006 was estimated at nearly VND 500 million. Accordingly, Xuan Thien commune’s 60 poor households were offered loans from the Thong Nhat district branch.
At present, in Xuan Thien commune, there are more than 320 households living in poverty, representing nearly 17 per cent of the households in the commune.
