The Chinese living in Dong Nai make great efforts to development of the province

(ĐN) – Provincial leaders met on Tuesday, February 7 with over 150 representatives out of 110,000 the Chinese living in Dong Nai in the beginning of the Year of the Dog, 2006.

(ĐN) – Provincial leaders met on Tuesday, February 7 with over 150 representatives out of 110,000 the Chinese living in Dong Nai in the beginning of the Year of the Dog, 2006.

Speaking at the meeting, the provincial party committee secretary Tran Dinh Thanh highly praised positive contributions of the Chinese living in Dong Nai to the past resistance wars against foreign aggressors as well as to the present process of national construction and defence. He also urged local governments at all levels to further unite Chinese communities in Dong Nai as well as encourage them to join associations, guilds and unions.

Representatives of the Chinese living in provincial districts, Long Khanh townlet and Bien Hoa city expressed the most gratefulness for the particular interest granted by Provincial Party Committee, provincial authority and associations to take care of their material and spiritual life.

There are one Vietnamese heroic mother and 160 families with meritorious contributions to the revolution who are the Chinese living in Dong Nai. Local government provides the most favorable conditions for Chinese communities in Dong Nai to develop their businesses with setting up hundreds of limited liability companies and farms. Nearly 16 per cent of families among Chinese communities in the province now become well-off. Especially, 80 per cent of Chinese households in some communes, Dinh Quan district are rich. Besides, local government paid special attention to the building of new places of worship and Chinese Language Centers or repairing damaged ones. There are now 28,000 Chinese people in Dong Nai who are members of the Party, Youth Union and the national associations.
