Levels of education include pre-school, general, secondary, vocational and higher education. In addition, local centers for continuing education are opened for all adults who are the majority of workers and labors. These centers are providing opportunities for people to develop their skills and expand their knowledge. Also, this helps to raise intellectual standards of local population and develop qualified workforce. Great outcomes have been witnessed in illiteracy eradication and adult education. The province has made compulsory to everyone general education at the junior high school graduation.

During the past five years, the Provincial Department of Education and Training has enhanced its efforts in partnering with agencies involved with education and training to focus on effective implementation strategies in order to increase teaching effectiveness and student learning. Besides, teaching development programs has always been offered to teaching staff of local schools aiming to ensure them continue to have their teaching skills upgraded. During the period, learning facilities in a number of local schools have been upgraded.

The satisfactory results in vocational training and job creation

Vocational training system in the province plays a vital role for human resource development to meet the labor market demand for the present and long term future. Thus, local vocational training schools and centers have been expanded and upgraded to offer high quality teaching and courses for students. These courses have been tailored to meet the recruitment needs of enterprises over the past 5 years. Recently, the province has about 69 vocational training establishments (including state-owned and non-state vocational training schools). Some establishments have combined with  state-owned, non-state and foreign invested enterprises to train qualified workforce to supply to these enterprises. This way helps to provide needed skills to local labor force. Some professions are being trained at vocational training establishments such as electricity, mechanical engineering, chemical, garment, etc. An efficient vocational training system produced the increasing number of trained labors from 40,000 people in 2001 to over 50,000 people in 2005. Also, the number of trained employees raised up to 32% in 2005 compared with 16% in 2000. The overall achievement figure exceeded the set target. Besides, there have been 375,000 new employments created in the province of Dong Nai over the past 5 years. Accordingly, the unemployment rate in urban reduced significantly, from 4.5% in 2001 to 3.4% in 2005.
