Humanitarian blood donation campaign in Dong Nai

(ĐN) - It is estimated that about 3804 volunteers have donated blood over the past eleven months of this year. The donated blood is used to save lives in surgeries, traumas, cancer treatments and treatment of a wide variety of diseases. Particularly, Cho Ray Hospital collected 1637 units of blood while all provincial hospitals received 2167 units from donors. The province will appeal to encourage more people to donate blood in 2006. It is expected to collect 4800 units of blood from donors. Donating blood only meets 65 per cent of hospitals’ requirements.
