Dong Nai Newspaper offers Hoang Minh Chau scholarships to 50 outstanding poor pupils in Tra Vinh province

(ĐN)- In the morning of September 27, Dong Nai Newspaper offered scholarships entitled “Hoang Minh Chau” for 50 outstanding poor students in the 2005-2006 school year in An Truong commune, Cang Long district, Tra Vinh province. This place was native land of Hoang Minh Chau, the first Secretary of the Party Cell after 1945. Scholarship recipients, their families and the local government were deeply touched by the extension of support and assistance from Dong Nai Newspaper.

On the occasion, Editor-in-chief Nguyen Thien Nhut visited and presented a gift to Nguyen Thanh Cong, a young brother of Hoang Minh Chau. He also visited Hoang Minh Chau’s grave in An Truong commune.

Hoang Minh Chau scholarships are awarded annually to outstanding children of poor civil servants and party members. Each scholarship is worth VND 500,000. The scholarship programme is financed by Dong Nai Newspaper’s social charity fund.
