Nguyen Dinh Dau wins 2005 Tran Van Giau Award

(ĐN)- In the morning of September 22, the 2nd Tran Van Giau Awarding ceremony was held in Ho Chi Minh City by organizing board. In January 2001, the Ho Chi Minh City Council of Social Sciences established the Tran Van Giau Award for excellent works on history and the history of ideology in the Southern area of the country. The Tran Van Giau award is held annually and presented to only one work in the two categories. The 1st Tran Van Giau Award winner was Thai Hong, a researcher who received this honorable prize with his work on history entitled “Nguyen Tri Phuong” in 2004.

About 38 works has been nominated for 2005 Tran Van Giau Award. Nguyen Dinh Dau, a researcher won this year’s Tran Van Giau Award with his work themed “The research on the land and land register in 6 provinces of the Southern area under the Nguyen Dynasty”. The prize value is VND 100 million.

On this occasion, the organizing board encourages researcher participation with more works on history of nation building and territorial expansion, Vietnamese anti-French resistance war (the first phase of the war) as well as history of  ideology and religion in the Southern area of the country for Tran Van Giau Award in coming years.
