Dong Nai Buddhist Church gets involved in humanitarian activities

(ĐN)- August 6, the managing committee of the Dong Nai Buddhist Church held a meeting to aim to summarize the work of Buddhist clergymen and Buddhist in the first half of this year. Remarkably, the Buddhistic festivals were held solemnly and legally.

(ĐN)- August 6, the managing committee of the Dong Nai Buddhist Church held a meeting to aim to summarize the work of Buddhist clergymen and Buddhist in the first half of this year. Remarkably, the Buddhistic festivals were held solemnly and legally. Besides, the provincial Buddhist made active contributions with a total amount of nearly 4 billion VND to humanitarian activities through building charity houses, aiding to calamity victims, helping orange agent victims and single persons, financing for free eye surgery program, providing free meals for poor people as well as free-of-charge check and treatment for poor patients. Local Buddhist Church has developed or strengthened the programme of forestation and environmental protection as well as participated in numerous social movements such as construction of road, bridge and school. Besides, they also contributed efforts to build a cultural lifestyle in residential area and protect national security etc.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial Committee of the VN Fatherland Front Nguyen Xuan Chien praised positive contributions by the Buddhist clergymen and Buddhist to social affairs and charity work as well as national security protection. Addressing at the meeting, he proposed that all religions should contribute their opinions to documents of Party Congress at all levels and legal documents. In addition, they were requested to join Seminar on the role of religious dignitaries with the task of protecting national security.
