Dong Nai issues free-of-charge health care cards for children under six

(ĐN)- July 31, the Provincial Committee for Population, Family and Children together with Long Khanh Peoples’ Committee held the first-ever meeting aiming to grant free-of-charge health care cards for children under six in Xuan Thanh ward, Long Khanh town.

(ĐN)- July 31, the Provincial Committee for Population, Family and Children together with Long Khanh Peoples’ Committee held the first-ever meeting aiming to grant free-of-charge health care cards for children under six in Xuan Thanh ward, Long Khanh town. The meeting was attended by Vice Chairman of the Provincial Peoples’ Committee Huynh Van Toi, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial Population, Family and Children Committee Luu Thi Phuong and other leaders of local authority.

According to the report of Xuan Thanh ward’s Peoples’ Committee, about 769 children under six have listed to issue health care cards for enjoying free checks and treatment at public hospitals and clinics. On this occasion, Xuan Thanh was chosen the first place to grant 100 free-of- charge health care cards for children under six.

 According to preliminary statistic, the province has around 253,000 children under six and all of them will be provided free-of- charge health care cards from now until the end of August.

Addressing at the meeting, Mr. Huynh Van Toi emphasized that local authorities and relevant organizations at all levels should focus more attention on  children health care as well as continue to issue birth certificates to those under six without these and give priority to children from ethnic minority groups and remote areas .
