Officials, Party members and residents across Dong Nai are eagerly awaiting the ceremony announcing the National Assembly’s Resolution on the establishment of Dong Nai City.
Confidence and optimism
Phan Duy Khiem, Head of the Information and General Affairs Division under City Party Committee's Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization, said the commission recently conducted an online public opinion survey to assess the thoughts and sentiments of officials, Party members and people from all walks of life regarding the establishment of Dong Nai City. More than 47,500 responses were collected through the survey.
Analysis of the survey data showed that the overwhelming majority of respondents expressed support, confidence and optimism about the establishment of Dong Nai City, while also highly appreciating the leadership and direction of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front Committee — now reorganized into the corresponding bodies of Dong Nai City — throughout the process.
The public opinion survey also indicated that officials, Party members and residents across Dong Nai have closely followed developments related to the city’s establishment and expressed strong consensus and confidence in the initiative. According to the findings, the establishment of Dong Nai City represents a shift in development and governance models aligned with public aspirations, as well as the Party and State’s orientations for the new development stage.
The move is expected to create fresh momentum for growth, helping transform Dong Nai into a modern industrial, logistics and service hub. It will also reinforce the locality’s role as a regional connector and international trade gateway in Southern Vietnam. It also reflects strong political determination and unity in both will and action, while strengthening public confidence, development aspirations and the spirit of national solidarity. In addition, the new city model is expected to help mobilize and effectively utilize resources to achieve the goal of building Dong Nai into a green, modern and civilized urban center.
The establishment of Dong Nai City is regarded as a particularly important milestone reflecting the Party and State’s strategic vision for the development of the Southern key economic region. Beyond being a source of pride for the local Party Committee, authorities and people, the event also opens a new chapter with opportunities for breakthrough development.
Against this backdrop, officials, Party members and residents are expected to further uphold solidarity and responsibility, actively contribute to building a civilized and modern urban area, accelerate digital transformation and administrative reform, preserve cultural identity and ensure social welfare.
Le Viet Du, a resident of Loc Thanh residential quarter in Dau Giay ward, expressed hope that authorities and agencies from the city- to ward- and commune-levels would continue promoting public awareness of the significance and importance of building Dong Nai City, as well as policy decisions and development orientations adopted following the city’s establishment.
He also called for continued communication on key tasks in the coming period to ensure Dong Nai develops in line with its new status as a city. According to him, efforts should focus on consolidating the organizational apparatus, improving the effectiveness of state management and promoting the role and responsibility of officials, Party members and residents in local development.
Moreover, public opinion should be promptly monitored, while diverse and multidimensional information, including constructive feedback, should be respected to help officials, Party members and residents fully understand the Party and State’s guidelines regarding the development of Dong Nai City.
Turning determination into action
Nguyen Thi Phuong, Party Secretary and Chairwoman of the People’s Council of Tam Phuoc ward, said that in celebration of the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30), the 136th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19) and especially the establishment of Dong Nai City, local authorities organized a mobile communication vehicle convoy on the morning of April 30, 2026.
Vehicles decorated with colorful flags and flowers traveled through streets and residential quarters across Tam Phuoc ward while patriotic songs echoed throughout the locality.
Alongside the floral parade, the Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front Committee of Tam Phuoc ward also organized a mass folk dance performance to celebrate the historic event. More than 1,000 residents participated in a formation performance spelling out the words “Dong Nai City” to the music of the song Dong Nai City – Rising Aspirations.
In the coming period, Tam Phuoc ward will continue organizing practical activities to celebrate the establishment of Dong Nai City, reflecting local residents’ unity and confidence in this historic event.
Cao Tien Sy, Party Secretary and Chairman of the People’s Council of Dau Giay ward, said the ward Party Committee’s Standing Board had directed to launch a special emulation campaign to celebrate major national events in 2026, as well as the establishment of Dau Giay ward and Dong Nai City.
The campaign focuses on building Dau Giay into a civilized, modern and compassionate ward; accelerating administrative reform and digital transformation; promoting data-driven governance; supporting disadvantaged residents to ensure no one is left behind; speeding up site clearance to create breakthroughs in urban infrastructure development; building a drug-free locality with strong public security; and strengthening a streamlined, effective and efficient grassroots political system.
Amid the vibrant atmosphere celebrating the establishment of Dong Nai City, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tan Tien Commune, in coordination with socio-political organizations, recently inaugurated and handed over a public lighting project in Tan Hiep hamlet.
The project was implemented along a rural road stretching more than one kilometer through residential groups 4 and 5, featuring 32 solar-powered streetlights at a total cost of nearly VND40 million. Funding came from support mobilized by the commune Fatherland Front Committee alongside contributions from local residents.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Ly Thanh Sang, Vice Chairman of the commune Fatherland Front Committee and Chairman of the Tan Tien Commune Farmers’ Association, said the project would not only help ensure public security and traffic safety, but also demonstrate the spirit of solidarity and collective efforts among residents in building new-style rural areas toward a more modern and civilized locality.
