On May 8, under the direction of the Dong Nai City People’s Committee, the Department of Science and Technology, in coordination with relevant agencies, organized a seminar on digital transformation orientations in support of smart urban governance in Dong Nai City.

Attendees at the event included Nguyen Van Ut, Deputy Secretary of the Dong Nai City Party Committee (CPC) and Chairman of the City People’s Committee; Le Truong Son, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC and Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee; and leaders of departments, agencies, and mass organizations.
The seminar attracted more than 200 delegates, including representatives from communes and wards across the city, as well as experts and enterprises operating in science, technology, and digital transformation from inside and outside the city.

The seminar was held in response to the Vietnam Science, Technology and Innovation Day (May 18). It provided an opportunity for management agencies, experts, and digital technology enterprises to exchange information, discuss issues, and propose strategies and smart urban governance models for Dong Nai City in its new development phase.

At the seminar, leaders of the Dong Nai City Department of Science and Technology presented a report assessing the results of digital transformation implementation in Dong Nai. Experts and corporate representatives also delivered presentations on topics including the digital architecture framework serving as a stable, secure, integrated, and developmental foundation; smart governance based on urban digital twins; digital transformation associated with smart governance models in the healthcare, education, and training sectors in Dong Nai; and the modernization of data platforms and digital interoperability systems.

In addition, participants at the seminar discussed and exchanged views on modern digital infrastructure, synchronized connectivity for the two-tier local administration system, comprehensive digital and information security, and confidently advancing into the digital era.

Speaking at the seminar, Le Truong Son, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC and Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee, emphasized that the seminar was organized not only for Dong Nai to review initial results, but more importantly, to jointly shape strategies and design the most suitable smart urban governance model for Dong Nai City in the new development phase. The seminar focused on discussing and proposing solutions in four key areas: digital platforms and data; smart urban governance based on urban digital twins; the application of digital transformation in sectors directly serving people’s daily lives; and comprehensive digital security.
The leader of the Dong Nai City People’s Committee assigned the Department of Science and Technology to take the lead, in coordination with the Office of the Dong Nai City People’s Committee and relevant units, in synthesizing all proposals and technological solutions presented at the seminar. Based on these inputs, the department will advise and propose updates to the city’s digital transformation plan and Smart Urban Project, contributing to building Dong Nai into a smart, modern, and livable city.
