At the meeting, representatives of the Department of Agriculture and Environment reported on the implementation progress of tasks under Plan No. 190/KH-UBND issued by the city People’s Committee for organizing the 2026 Golden Cashew Festival, which is scheduled to take place from May 21 to 23 in Dong Tam Commune, Dong Nai City.
The festival, themed “Unlocking Value – Elevating Vietnamese Cashews,” aims to introduce and promote the Dong Nai cashew brand, stimulate consumer demand, and attract visitors to explore and experience cashew-based products. The event is also expected to contribute to economic growth while affirming the cashew industry's role in the city’s agricultural economy.
A wide range of activities will be held during the festival, including a beautifully decorated booth competition, a culinary contest featuring cashew-based dishes, a seminar on sustainable development of Dong Nai City’s cashew industry for the 2026-2030 period, and business networking conferences connecting enterprises and trade partners.
Representatives of the Department of Agriculture and Environment also reported on issues related to preparation, such as funding, venue, logistics, security and order, anticipated guests, and promotional activities for the festival.
In his concluding remarks at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the city People’s Committee Nguyen Tuan Anh instructed the Department of Agriculture and Environment to lead the review of all conditions to ensure the festival is organized professionally, safely, and effectively. He stressed that the event must highlight the distinctive value of local cashew products while creating a strong impression to promote Dong Nai’s agricultural image to residents, tourists, and export businesses. The organizing board was also asked to focus on cultural and artistic activities to attract farmers and visitors to participate in the festival.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment was requested to submit a comprehensive report on all festival-related tasks next week.
