Ho Van Nam, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Party Secretary as well as Chairman of the People’s Council of Tran Bien ward, noted that as the ward with the largest number of voters in the province, Tran Bien had made thorough preparations for the election. On election day, Polling Unit No. 26 in Vinh Thanh quarter welcomed Vu Hong Van, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee (PPC) and Chairman of the Provincial Election Committee, who attended the opening ceremony and cast his ballot, contributing to an enthusiastic atmosphere among voters. He also visited and encouraged election staff at several polling stations.
Throughout the election day, efforts to ensure security, traffic safety, fire prevention, and the supply of electricity and water at polling stations were maintained smoothly. As a result, voters were able to travel conveniently, polling stations operated continuously, and progress updates were reported in a timely manner, supporting the leadership and direction of the provincial authorities during the election day.
Nguyen Thi Nhu Y, Member of the PPC and Party Secretary as well as Chairwoman of the People’s Council of Long Hung ward, said the locality had mobilized all officials and civil servants to closely monitor residential areas both before and during the election day. On the night prior to election day, many officials worked through the night to review every stage of preparation, including checking banners, slogans and propaganda boards to prevent damage caused by strong winds. On election day, mobile communication teams actively visited residential areas to encourage residents to vote early and in line with the plan.
Affirming people’s deep trust
Nearly three million voters across Dong Nai province took part in the election of deputies to the 16th NA and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term, including those in remote and rural areas. Given the large electorate and wide geographical coverage, the organization of the election posed certain challenges. Nevertheless, voting progress across all 95 communes and wards proceeded swiftly throughout the day, thanks to decisive leadership and direction from the provincial authorities, strong grassroots responsibility and the people’s patriotic spirit.
Notably, Dak Lua, Tho Son, Hung Phuoc and Xuan Bac communes achieved a 100% voter turnout before 3 p.m. Building on this momentum, progress accelerated further, with 27 communes reaching full voter participation before 7 p.m. By the end of March 15, the province’s overall voter turnout reached 99.62%, reflecting the collective responsibility of the entire political system from provincial to grassroots levels.
Under the Law on Election of Deputies to the NA and People’s Councils (2015, amended in 2025), official election results and lists of elected deputies to NA and the People’s Councils at provincial and communal levels will be announced within 10 days after the voting day.
In this election, Dak Lua was among the first four communes to complete voting before 3 p.m., with four polling stations finishing as early as 8 a.m. According to Nguyen Thanh Hien, Deputy Party Secretary and Chairman of the People’s Committee of Dak Lua commune, the key to this achievement lay in early communication efforts and close monitoring of each household. Taking into account rural habits, where residents often start their day early for fieldwork, the commune opened polling stations at 5:30 a.m. instead of 7 a.m. For households that had not voted by 10 a.m., local officials contacted them by phone or visited their homes to encourage participation.
Following the completion of voting, election committees in communes and wards across the province immediately began vote counting in accordance with legal regulations and guidance from the Provincial Election Committee. Many communes and wards have already completed the counting process and submitted preliminary results. Thanks to the national electoral data system and clear instructions from the provincial authorities, vote counting and result compilation have been carried out quickly, smoothly and accurately.
