Minister of Public Security Gen. Tran Dai Quang and his Chinese counterpart Guo Shengkun held talks in Beijing on October 24 within the framework of the ASEAN-China ministerial dialogue on law enforcement and security cooperation.

They agreed to realise common perceptions reached by their leaders and take practical actions to foster comprehensive and widespread cooperation in law enforcement and fighting organised, trans-national, terrorism, cyber and human trafficking crimes.
Crackdowns on crimes at border areas as well as measures to ensure safety for Vietnamese and Chinese citizens living in each other’s country will continue.
Both sides vowed to intensify personnel training and provide technical equipment used for crime prevention and immigration management.

Meeting Politburo member and Secretary of the Chinese Party Committee’s Commission for Political and Legal Affairs Meng Jianzhu, Quang said the upcoming Vietnam visit by Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping will be a significant milestone in the traditional ties between the two Parties, States and peoples.
Vietnam always treasures the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation with China and sincerely looks forward to fostering the ties for the sake of the two peoples, he stated.
He also hailed positive progress of coordination between the two public security forces since their fourth meeting on anti-crime cooperation held in Beijing in 2014.
Meng, for his part, affirmed that the Chinese Party, State and people continually value and desire to strengthen the friendship and collaboration with Vietnam.
As part of the dialogue, the Vietnamese minister also met bilaterally with Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sar Kheng, Lao Minister of Security Somkeo Silavong, and Singaporean Senior Minister of State Desmond Lee.
They discussed joint work in fighting crimes and dealing with traditional and non-traditional security challenges.
