Nearly VND8.4 bil raised for study encouragement

Chairman Le Van Chinh presents gifts to studious poor students

In the school year 2008-2009, the association launched a program to raise money for study encouragement fund by mobilizing locals to put money in their clay pigs. All the proceeds from the clay pigs is used to help poor pupils continue their studies and award scholarships to outstanding students, etc.  

After two years of launching, the association mobilized approximately VND2 billion to help the beneficiaries.

Over the past five years, the association’s study encouragement activities received active supports from individuals, organizations and enterprises. Accordingly, nearly VND8.4 billion was raised to the district’s study promotion fund to honor and help local teachers and students.

With the donations, the association provided scholarships and 400 bicycles to more than 6,000 poor students.

In the coming time, the association will continue to mobilize resources to promote the movements of study promotion, encourage all people and social organizations to get involved in study encouragement activities, said Chairman of Nhon Trach district’s Study Promotion Association Le Van Chinh.
