According to a report by Dong Nai province’s Board of Enterprise Reform and Development, the provinces 68 SOEs were worth VND1,309 billion in 2001. However, 67 enterprises have been transformed, following the provinces campaign over the last ten years. Of these, 48 were transformed into joint stock companies, 10 became limited companies, 3 were transferred, 6 dissolved in bankruptcy. After the transformation, profits have increased. All equitized enterprises have developed, with chartered capital increasing from VND1,309 billion to VND 4,743 billion, helping to create jobs for nearly 17,000 laborers.
Also at the meeting, 22 collectives and 33 individuals were honored for their contribution to the provinces campaign for restructuring of SOEs and awarded certificates of merit from the Provincial People’s Committee.
