(ĐN)- Community learning centres in Dong Nai province have played a vital role in illiteracy eradication and in universalisation of education in the locality during the past years, according to the Dong Nai Steering Committee for the development of community learning centres.
Over 1.2 million people took part in training courses at local community centres in 2009. .
The local centers provided various learning opportunities for community development and improvement of people’s quality of life. Besides, various training courses were organized by these centres which include courses on cooking, foreign language, vocational skills etc. with the aim of improving the knowledge and skills of the trainees while, at the same time, meeting the essential needs of the people. Apart from the amount of more than VND 3 billion granted from the State budget, local community learning centres have mobilised over VND 2 billion to develop the socialization of education and training.
