The project was conducted by HCM City-based Tu Du Obstetrics Hospital in collaboration with Dong Nai General Hospital.

Newborn screenings could help discover and provide early treatment of deformities for children. The prenatal and newborn screening project has significantly contributed to a reduction in babies born with malformations and deformities and improving population quality.
So far, the Dong Nai General Hospital has screened nearly 6,000 patients including pregnant women and newborns and a total of more than 100 were found to have diseases. Prenatal and newborn screening tests are free.
