(ĐN) - The Dong Nai people enjoyed the Canh Dan Lunar New Year in a cheerful, safe and thrifty atmosphere, said Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran Dinh Thanh at a meeting between the provincial leaders and local agencies to review activities during the 2010 Lunar New Year (Tet) on February 22.

Also attending the meeting were Le Hong Phuong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Vo Van Mot, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee and Nguyen Thi Kim Lien, Chairwoman of the provincial Front Fatherland Committee.

According to reports of departments and agencies, the province’s socio-economic situation was stable before, during and after the Tet holidays and the local police force undertook the tasks for maintenance of security and social order to ensure every family in the province enjoyed a happy Tet. In addition, commodities for the Tet holiday were abundant in terms of quantity, variety and quality and the province has focused on controlling prices and stabilising the market. Relevant bodies have made efforts to take care of Tet for policy beneficiaries and poor people in the province, ensuring a happy Tet for them. Local authorities have taken sound measures to prevent smuggling and trade fraud as welll as ensure food hygiene and safety and traffic safety during the Tet holiday.
Addressing at the meeting, Chairman Vo Van Mot urged local agencies and department to make concerted efforts to successfully fulfill the province’s socio-economic development targets through 2010.
