(ĐN)- On Feb. 2, a delegation from the provincial Red Cross Association visited and presented 110 Tet gifts worth VND200,000 each to poor households and AO/dioxin victims in Thong Nhat district. This is an practical activity to help the beneficiaries to have a happy Lunar New Year. Earlier, the association gave 100 gifts to poor families in Xuan Loc district’s Xuan Thanh commune. Besides, the district’s Red Cross Chapter offered 100 gifts each valued at VND175,000 to households in difficult circumstances in Suoi Cao commune.
Dong Nai branch of Vietinbank presented 90 Tet gifts worth VND400,000 each to policy families, poor and ethnic minority households in Xuan Tho commune, Xuan Loc district. Before that, the provincial Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Committee gave 100 gifts to the poor in Xuan Hiep commune.
In two days, Feb 1-2, a charity delegation of Bien Hoa city provided 500 Tet gifts to poor families in Tan Phu district’s Nui Tuong, Phu Lap, and Dak Lua communes. The gifts worth a total of VND150 million. On this occasion, Tan Phu district People’s Committee awarded 15 gifts to the children with excellent academic records in Nguyen Hue primary school.
Other 224 gifts were also presented to blind people and poor beneficiaries in Dinh Quan district. The gifts, valued at more than VND67 million, came from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Blind Peoples Association and Tin Nghia company.
On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Long Khanh town handed over four charity houses to poor households in Bao Vinh and Hang Gon communes. The houses were built at a total cost of VND64 million.
On Feb 2, Long Khanh town’s Fatherland Front Committee gave 100 Tet gifts worth VND250,000 each to poor families in Bao Quang commune. The gifts were donated by Bien Hoa Packaging Company. According to plan, the committee will continue to give more than 400 gifts to policy families, ethnic people and poor households in the town.
Thong Nhat district has prepared 7500 gifts worth more than VND2.6 billion to help the poor, handicapped people, single elderly people, policy families and heroic mothers celebrate Tet. The gifts will be offered to the beneficiaries from Feb 3-8.
