Meeting to mark 65th anniversary of Vietnam People’s Army

(ĐN)- A meeting to mark the 65th anniversary of the Viet Nam People’s Army (December 22, 1945) and the 20th anniversary of the All-People’s Defence Day (December 22, 1989) was held in Dong Nai yesterday.

Among attendees were Secretary and Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Tran Dinh Thanh and Le Hong Phuong, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Mot and other leaders as well as heroic mothers, heroes of the People’s Armed Forces, etc.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman Vo Van Mot reviewed the 65 years of building, fighting and development of the Viet Nam People’s Army, the army’s courageous exploits and times of valour during the past struggle for national liberation and unification, as well as its contributions to national construction and defence.

Upholding the army’s glorious traditions, Mr. Mot said the province’s armed forces vow to train regularly, increase their combative spirit and establish close links between national defence and people’s security to lay a firm foundation for prosperous development in both the province and the country.

Provinces leaders, representatives of agencies and departments offered incense and laid wreaths at the province Martyrs’ Ceremony

Earlier, the participants offered incense at the province Martyrs’ Ceremony and laid wreaths to commemorate those who sacrificed their lives for national independence.
