Linear accelerator put into operation in Dong Nai General Hospital

(ĐN)- Doctor Phan Anh Huy Vu, Director of Dong Nai General Hospital said that the nuclear medicine and tumor treatment ward of the hospital has now come into operation after one years preparation. The facility is equipped with modern medical equipments such as linear accelerator (LINAC) and Computed Tomography Scanner (CT.Scanner). In addition, 20 medical workers, including doctors, nurses and technicians have been sent to HCM City Tumor Hospital and Bach Mai General Hospital in Ha Noi to learn about treatment for cancer patients. Dong Nai General Hospital is among few of the provincial-level hospitals in the country which set up the nuclear medicine and tumor treatment ward.

The first patient in Dong Nai province treated with LINAC stereotactic radiosurgery is Nguyen Van Dung from Long Giao commune, Cam My district who was diagnosed with early stage lung cancer.
