(ĐN)- In two days, from September 12 to 13, the Dong Nai Preventive Medicine Centre has launched an extensive mosquito control campaign. The Department’s staff sprayed chemical substances in some localities where have been hit hard by the disease in order to kill mosquito larvae and reduce the risk of dengue fever.
Over 3,000 cases of dengue fever were reported in the province since the beginning of this year, including two fatalities. This figure represented a decrease of over 40 per cent from the same period last year. Local authorities have taken various measures to wipe out the disease, including dredging sewerage and spraying chemicals to stamp out the mosquito population. However, the province is still facing a high risk of a widespread outbreak of dengue fever in this month.
