(ĐN)- According to statistics by the Dong Nai Preventive Medicine Centre, so far this year there were 1,868 petechial fever patients recorded with two death cases occurring in Dong Nai. The figure represented a year-on-year increase of over 40 per cent. Cases of the fever were on the rise in Bien Hoa city, Thong Nhat, Vinh Cuu, Trang Bom and Xuan Loc districts. Local authorities have taken various measures to wipe out the disease, including dredging sewerage and spraying chemicals to stamp out the mosquito population. However, local health officials are worried the disease will spread further and outbreaks of the fever will be even more likely.
