Inauguration of stele house in commemoration of fallen soldiers of commando regiment No 113

(ĐN)- Late last week, the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee held an inauguration ceremony of a stele house in commemoration of fallen soldiers of commando regiment No 113 in Tan Bien ward, Bien Hoa city.

(ĐN)- Late last week, the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee held an inauguration ceremony of a stele house in commemoration of fallen soldiers of commando regiment No 113 in Tan Bien ward, Bien Hoa city. Present at the inauguration ceremony were the provincial and municipal leaders, some senior military officers including Major Generals Dao Van Quan and Ngo Ngoc Binh and other guests.

The construction of the project began in March this year and the construction cost is estimated at more than VND 3 billion.

The regiment was first named Bien Hoa commando regiment No 113 and this name is now shortened to commando regiment No 113. The regiment was founded on June 3, 1972 in the war zone D. The commando regiment No 113 three times has earned the title Hero of the Peoples Armed Forces  for its contributions to the country and awarded Resistance War Medals.

Speaking at the inauguration event, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Le Hong Phuong stressed the need for the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to promote the  display of objects and images relating to the history of commando regiment No 113. Phuong also urged local authorities to step up efforts to make the stele house not only attractive tourism destination but also a place for educating people about patriotic traditions.
