Provincial Farmer’s Association reviews its activities in first half

(ĐN)- The fourth meeting of the 7^th-term Dong Nai provincial Farmer Association’s Executive Committee was held on June 12 with the participation of Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Ao Van Thinh. At the meeting, the association reviewed its activities in the first haft of this year and set tasks for next months.

Provincial Farmers Association reviews its activities in first half of 2009

During the past time, the association made many efforts to propaganda and encourage its members to participate in programs relating to poverty reduction, environmental protection and rural infrastructure construction.

In the first half of the year, the organization admitted nearly 4,700 new members, bringing its total number of members to more than 203,600. Of them, 123,000 people registered to become good farmers in production and business.

Besides, the association cooperated with Dong Nai branches of Agribank and Social Policy Bank to provide preferential loans worth a total of approximately VND360 billion to 10,500 local farmer households.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman Ao Van Thinh expressed his hope that the association will continue its efforts to help farmers overcome difficulties, stabilize their life.
