The Administration Board of Civil and Industrial Construction Projects under the Department of Construction has been assigned to be the investor for the 100-apartment project.
Nguyen Thi Nhung, the board’s deputy director, said that the basic design has been finished.
Upon completion, block A’s and block B’s total area will be 2,521sq.m and 2,625sq.m, respectively.
Each apartment will have an area of 64sq.m, and will contain two bedrooms, one living room and one kitchen. They will be sold for approximately VND320 million (US$18,000) each.
Garages, staff rooms and common rooms will be built on the ground floor.
Three groups of people will have the right to rent or buy these apartments, according to the Ministry of Construction. They include government officials who have not been granted houses; army officers; and individuals who have gained outstanding achievement in art, education, science, etc.
Other requirements are that they do not own a house, live in lodgings and have an average monthly income of VND1.9-4 million.
Qualified state cadres must have worked for at least three years at government agencies.
Among these groups, the province will give preference for low-income state and army officials because about 30 per cent of them do not have houses yet, said Ta Huy Hoang, Deputy Director of the Construction Department.
