(ĐN)- 100 scholarships of “Nurturing and developing young talents” will be awarded to high school and university students on August, according to Long Thanh district’s Study Encouragement Association. Accordingly, the university students will receive annual scholarships worth VND8 million each; the high school students get scholarships valued at VND1 million until they graduate.
To prepare for the new school year of 2008-2009, the district mobilized nearly 45,000 notebooks, 16,000 sets of textbook to give to poor pupils in remote areas and ethnic minority pupils. Total cost for the programme is estimated at more than VND 600 million.
