(ĐN)- Thousands of people gathered to witness the ground breaking ceremony for the
Thu Bien Bridge linking the two provinces of Dong Nai and Binh Duong on the morning of March 20 in Thuong Uyen commune, Tan Uyen district, Binh Duong province. Thu Bien Bridge will be 511m long and 17m wide. The bridge will connect provincial highway 746 (in Thuong Uyen commune, Tan Uyen district, Binh Duong province) on one end and Provincial Highway 768 (in Thien Tan commune, Vinh Cuu district, Dong Nai province) on the other. The bridge will have 4 lanes with the road surface width of 14m and sidewalk curbs on both sides of the bridge and 0.6-m-wide corridor on each side.
The Thu Bien Bridge was designed based on the consultancy by Transport Engineering Design Incorporation - Southern Branch (Tedi South) while the Transport Work Construction Corporation is the constructor. The project is estimated to cost VND 160 billion which is covered by the two provinces of Dong Nai and Binh Duong at a cost-share rate of 50/50. So far all the site clearance work related to this project has been completed, and the bridge is expected to be completed within 650 days from the start date of construction.
