(ĐN)- On the morning of March 19, South Vietnam Institute for Agricultural Science and Technique (IAST) and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dong Nai province in coordination with Belgium’s Gembloux Agricultural University held a meeting to review the 10-year implementation of the project aiming at supporting rural businesses in Dong Nai. This project has been funded by Gembloux Agricultural University.

For the reviewed period, the project has benefited 35 rural businesses in 4 districts of Xuan Loc, Thong Nhat, Dinh Quan and Tan Phu, through providing capital for them to develop the production, processing, and trade in agricultural products. The beneficiaries of the project were two main groups: the small and medium business owners in rural areas. They have received loans of VND 3.98 billion over the past 10 years. This project has contributed to create economic opportunities and stable conditions for rural businesses while at the same time, contributing to create jobs for the abundant workforce in the rural areas and increase incomes for them.

In the coming time, the project will support activities aiming at improving the quality of agricultural production and products.
